Recording: Day 02

We finished two drum tracks, and we will be hitting it again soon. While the record is slow going, we promise an early 2011 completion...before summer at least. This is our first time recording ourselves (other than bad demos) and it ain't easy. And neither is pimpin.

As for show news...We are playing with The Seedy Seeds and No No Knots on January 21st at Blind Bob's Bar in Dayton. Ohio. Should be a rad show.

RECORDING update

After a benefit show on November 24th and some drum head difficulties, we are resuming recording once again. We knocked out some solid drum tracks last week, and the plan for the next month is to fine tune these until both Pete and the rest of the band is happy with them. Considering the lack of time limits, we will be making sure each track represents us the way WE want.

We have had a few false starts and I swear...its official now. SO LETS GET A RECORD MADE!

RECORDING: Day 01

Tonight we start the new album. We are excited, and to be honest...I'm a little nervous as to how it's going to sound. We are starting with drums, which in my opinion is the hardest instrument to track. If we do what we've done before, Pete will be tracking songs from memory...yeah.

Any ways, we will keep you updated on the progress of the sessions and maybe even post little song nuggets of things along the way. Maybe.

NEWS UPDATE - 10/12/2010

Hey everyone,

For those of you that do not know what is going on with Me & Mountains currently, I thought I would give you all a nice update. So...here goes nothing

1. We have one last SHOW THIS WEEK before we buckle down and record our new full length. Its going to be at Blind Bobs in Dayton, Ohio this Friday October 15th. Check http://www.blindbobs.com/ for more information.

In other news, We have a CD release show/party coming up on June 5th at Blind Bobs Bar in the Oregon District of Dayton, Ohio. Come one, come all. It shall rock your face off. Special guest include Okay Lindon and The Harlequins. You won't wanna miss that.

In radio news, 91.3 FM WYSO in Yellow Springs, Ohio played a track of ours this week on Kaleidescope. We feel loved. We will be on the show on June 2nd at 8pm to chat and spin some tracks from the new EP.

We have finished up everything except for a few guitar things on the recording. SO.......it should be done in a week or two.

Keep an eye out. We will be throwing some sort of release party/show and selling those disc for around $5 probably for 6 tracks. Not bad if you ask me.

Studio Update!

We have been doing overdubs on vocals and such for a week or two now. Things are going well. I would say almost everything is done. We still have one guitar solo and some more vocal work, but it's very minimal.

It's coming along nicely, and we can't wait for everyone to hear it. The music was recorded on reel to reel and all live on a Tascam 388 Studio 8.

Also, we are discussing right now as to whether to include more tracks on the CD. We did 6 live on the reel, but we have some other recordings we might throw in as a bonus. You'll be hearing from us soon. Stay tuned.

Designing the EP

So in lieu of recording I have taken on the opportunity and the challenge of making us a kick ass, hopefully one of a kind album cover. As I make progress I will be sure to take pictures of the many little steps that will be taken to achieve the goal. Once the whole process is complete I will explain the concept and story behind the design. Lets cross our fingers that it ends up as cool as it looks in my head!
